![]() ![]() ![]() *****************SPOILER*****************īarrett won't make love to Meagan on their wedding night or afterwards because they're not really married. I did love how he rescued the dog, Nuisance.īut what made me give it 3 stars was the first love scene. Barrett should have given him a job where he couldn't cause destruction. There are some engaging secondary characters but Coates, the clumsy butler, wasn't one of them. I also did not like when Meagan made some incredibly stupid decisions. She's a virgin and from a good family (not that that should matter but back then it did). ![]() I did not like when Barrett said he wanted Meagan as a mistress. While I enjoyed the book, the love story was on and off again for me. The story has twists and turns that are engaging with the exception of Barrett continually being opposed to marriage for no apparent reason. ![]() He then discovers she is Meagan Fenwick, the woman he is to pretend to marry in order to discover a treasonous plot in which her brother is implicated. Lord Barrett Rothchild meets an enchanting fortune teller at a bazaar. The Cover - Why don't publishers give the illustrators a description of the main characters? The hero has blond hair and is way taller than the heroine! There were also numerous errors that an editor should have caught. ![]()
